Happy Mother's Day!

Was Mother’s Day created by a daughter or a son? It seems both claim they founded Mother’s Day. The second Sunday in May which was designated by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914 became a day to celebrate and honor mothers.

Ann Jarvis defended her role as “Mother of Mother’s Day” although she had no children of her own it was the death of her own mother inspiring her to organize a Mother’s Day observance.

Then in 1925 the Society of War Mothers investigated who deserved the honor of founding Mother’s Day. They concluded Frank Hering.

So whoever founded it:
We honor Mom who carried us 9 months in her womb and nurtured us through the years of our youth; we would not be who we are today if not for Mom. #thanksmom

To all the moms out there: Happy Mother’s Day! Suzy B
